GA letter to FBI (October 25, 1985)
Please find herewith a copy of a declaration I wrote following our meeting of October 23, 1985 and an FOIA request made to your office the same date.1
Also please find herewith my statement of what I was doing at the time of the alleged incident of October 13, 1985.2 I request that no one other than officials in the FBI, and specifically not Scientology, whoever filed the complaint against me, nor anyone acting as their agent, be given this statement.
The reason is simple. One of the harassment techniques of Scientology/Hubbard is to depose anyone who becomes involved, even in the most peripheral way, with me in any of the “legal” affairs Scientology or Hubbard create. The depositions are used to upset, harass and intimidate these people and thus make them reluctant to associate with me. In this case, it would create an uncomfortable situation where I live.
I do not believe these people would object to talking to you to confirm what I have stated, if you determine that this matter requires further investigation. However, they are reluctant to become targets of Scientology operations to get to me.
